Ready to optimize your agricultural lighting?
Our experience in agricultural lighting since 1974, combined with our research into pig lighting has convinced us of the fact that lighting is of significant importance in a pig house.
Good lighting improves both animal and farmer well-being in multiple ways.
Pig vision differs from human vision. This means that the light climate should be adapted accordingly. A correct light climate enables pigs to see better. When they see better they feel and eventually perform better. Besides that, light is also able to directly stimulate pig welfare and performances.
It’s important to note that pigs have differing lighting needs in every stage of the production cycle.
Proper lighting benefits both pig welfare and performances and eventually farm performances. This surely makes life better for a pig farmer. However, lighting has proven to be of value in more ways.
Durable lighting is very important in a pig house. High quality lighting that is especially designed to withstand the harsh environments in pig houses will last a lot longer than normal lighting. It’s also way easier to clean. Result: a lower workload, reduced replacement costs, less down-time and thus better farm results.
Energy-efficient lighting makes a significant difference as well. Especially when looking at the energy bill at the end of the year. Besides the decrease in costs, it benefits the environment as well.
Better results in a responsible way!

Because of the low eave height of 2m and reflective walls and ceilings, average light intensity is around 45 lux. Light distribution is excellent.

"Our house is relatively narrow and the fluorescent lamps were positioned centrally. This caused dark spots at the sides. All of this is history now; the light spread is perfect!"
